● The cut

How we cut.

Raw footage, bold words, hard cuts, real sound. The house style, with rules, templates and a word bank.

Five rules

  1. 01

    The hit buys the logo.

Nothing before the first impact. No intro card, no sting, no name. The first frame is contact — the brand earns its three seconds after that.

  2. 02

    One red thing per frame.

Blood red is the only accent. A glove, a rope, a word. If two things are red, one of them is wrong.

  3. 03

    Hold the shot.

Long holds read as expensive. A fighter walking to the ring for four seconds says more than eight jump cuts of the same walk.

  4. 04

Natural sound under the music, always.

Pads, breath, the bell, the crowd. Music sits on top of the room, never instead of it. If you can’t hear the gym, it isn’t a gym clip.

  5. 05

    Faces on screen.

People follow people. A cut with no face in the first three seconds gets re-cut.

Templates

Vertical 9:16 master

Safe zones for every platform baked in: 250px clear at the bottom, 120px at the top. Captions live in the middle third.

Lower third

Name in poster caps, role in mono. Two lines maximum. Enters on the first word the person says, not on the cut.

Intro / outro

No intro. Outro is a two-second lock-up: wordmark, one red square, the handle. Same file on every clip.

Caption grammar

Sentence case. Bold words are the words the fighter stressed. Numbers as numerals. No emojis in the frame.
