Southpaws make up a small slice of the population but a huge share of champions. The reason is simple: most fighters get far less practice against them.
The geometry The whole fight hinges on the lead-foot battle — whoever gets their lead foot outside the other's controls the angles and the power hand.
If you're orthodox vs a southpaw - Win the foot position — step your lead foot outside theirs. - Lead-hand dominance — the jab and lead hook become your main tools. - Beware the straight left — their power hand is in your blind spot.
If you're the southpaw - Exploit the unfamiliarity — most opponents are uncomfortable; press it. - Own the angles — your geometry is naturally awkward for them.
The southpaw edge is a training-volume edge. Close it by drilling it.
Understand the geometry and the "awkward" lefty becomes solvable.
