Divisions Canelo conquered

Built Canelo Álvarez into the face of boxing.

The story

Eddy Reynoso grew up in his father's gym and turned a redheaded teenager named Saúl Álvarez into Canelo — the biggest star in the sport and a four-division champion.

His genius is patience and adaptation: a Canelo fight is a slow read, then a sudden, surgical attack to the body and counters that arrive exactly when the opponent commits.

The philosophy

What Reynoso believed.

01

Read first, then strike.

02

Patience is a weapon, not passivity.

03

Defense and counters over constant output.

04

Break the body, collect the head later.

For your journey

What you should steal.

01

Patience under fire

You don't need to answer every shot. Wait for the opening you can punish.

02

Counter-roll

Roll under the hook and return your own — make their offense your opening.

You don't have to win every second. Stay patient, read, and take the openings you're given.

Turn wisdom into reps

Train it. Don't just read it.

Read-and-counter

Defense-only for 1 round, then counter-only — train patience then precision.
