Anatoly Lomachenko

Olympic gold (as a fighter)

Father and coach of Vasyl — architect of the 'matrix' system.

The story

Before Vasyl Lomachenko could box, his father Anatoly made him dance, tumble and master his own balance. The hands came later — the foundation was movement.

The result was the 'matrix': footwork so advanced that elite professionals simply couldn't find him. It's proof that the most under-trained skill in boxing — the feet — can become the deadliest.

The philosophy

What Lomachenko believed.

01

Feet before hands, always.

02

Take the angle first; the shots are free after.

03

Balance and coordination are trainable superpowers.

04

Never stand where you just punched from.

For your journey

What you should steal.

01

Pivot to the blind side

After a combo, pivot off-line so they have to turn — a turning fighter can't punch.

02

Train balance directly

Single-leg work, jump rope and coordination drills build the foundation.

Your feet decide your fights. Train footwork and angles as seriously as punching, and everything else gets easier.

Turn wisdom into reps

Train it. Don't just read it.

Pivot-and-attack

Punch, pivot 45°, attack the blind side. 5 rounds of pure footwork.
